Digitalization Roadshow
Siemens Qatar hosted a Digitalization Roadshow September 20, at the Sheraton Doha Hotel. Attendance was significant (men and ladies) in terms of quantity and professions considering the technical nature of the topic.
The sessions provided lots of practical insights on Siemens IOT platform (Mindsphere), digital transformation for oil and gas, energy industries and general manufacturing. The key theme and relevant takeaways for Qatar is 3D-Printing and how this technology can be applied in businesses and industries to be more data driven, efficient and productive. Siemens vertical software solutions incorporated with the know-how and domain expertise of the respective industries can transform existing manufacturing processes to the age of the 4th industrial revolution.
Great to see the discussion among the industry has moved from hailing the value and importance of big data to the actual use and application of knowledge into solutions and services. Siemens was also generous to substantiate its facts with figures which has reduced the dosage of sales pitching immensely. Other relevant themes to the logistics and transport verticals are augmented reality and virtual reality applications. Well done @Siemens Qatar for an informative event with deep dive sessions on cybersecurity, IOT operating system, digitalization strategy, oil and gas automation etc. Siemens also made sure to set an innovation zone including several of their software solutions and a real Maserati automobile from the showroom.
